In 2024, I started experiencing severe abdominal and back pain that made it difficult to do everyday tasks like walking. After a few months of on-and-off pain, my doctor found a large cyst that required surgery to remove.
Before and after surgery, I struggled with pain that limited my ability to do much, including the big art projects I’d planned. With little energy, I began folding paper instead. Using colorful scraps from past projects, I started making flowers—small, calming, and a way to focus on healing. Encouraged by my family and a suggestion from my friend to show and sell them, OrigamiFloral was born.
I’ve fully recovered from surgery though my energy levels vary. Still, no matter how tired I feel, I can always go back to folding paper, one flower at a time.
